Snowballs 54 Corner

I actually just received my order from BRS so I will be doing another update here shortly, got the rock samples, RO/DI unit , and the majority of the parts for the lighting system I'm building. Still need the sockets to arrive and need to go out and get power cords for the ballasts.

I decided to go with a 8 bulb T5HO fixture w/ 2 coral +, 2 Blue +, 2 aquablue special, 1 Purple +, and 1 Figi Purple

Should I start an individual build thread for the T5 HO lighting system I have planned and link the two together?

I got the lighting system wired and hooked up, unfortunatly I did not acclimate the corals to the new light slowly enough so part of my wall hammer is partially bleached but is recovering. Everything else is doing fine though.

Also I got the glass cut for the sump I am making, and siliconed them in place. unfortunatly there were a few leaks so I am going to go back and re-silicone the panels.

Have not redone the rockwork yet as I am waiting for the sump to be complete before I do so i can store water, corals, and the fish.

k update time. WITH PICS, finally.

Sump. No work of art but it's my first sump/try sealing thing with silicone.

The middle brace of the tank broke a while back, and while it has held so farwhen i've tested it and when I kept my cichlids for a few years I still wanted a little more security. So I built 4 wodden braces (to hold the ights lvl as well)

So with the last post I was trying to type on my phone and it didn't work out well with the sensors.......

Either way.

FIRST VENTURE INTO SPS! Bought a birdsnest, i think candlelight acro, and two monties (i think both are tyree, one is for sure)at macna.

Also first "real" venture into zoas, bought some nuke greens, la lakers, ice fire, and lunar eclipse at macna.

Finally got the green polyped toadstool, green nepthia, and purple/green frogspawn i have been wanting for so long at MACNA.

I also got two head of green duncan(first attempt), two headed blasto (first attempt), two different acans(first attempt), two chalices (first attempt), a gold/yellow torch(first torch), and a dragon's eye(?) favia all at MACNA.

Everything seems to be doing well. I have ployp extension on all of the SPS. All LPS are opening up nicely (exept of one of the heads of the blasto). Zoa's are starting to open up.

The only thing I'm not sure about is how to really tell if my favia, chalices, acans, and SPS are in a spot they like. (mainly the favias and chalices).

I know alot of people say based on growth but obviously there won't have been that much growth in less than a week.

Whats the best way to tell if:
SPS are happy?
Favia are happy?
Acans are happy?
Chalices are happy?
