Snails in my pump

I have a topless Biocube and can't figure out how to keep those little pesky snails from getting caught in the intake of my MJ1200. As a result i'm fighting a nasty bout of hair algae. I have filter floss to filter the water from the chamber next door housing the live rock, what else would work to keep them from invading?

I have to clean it out with every weekly WC and it seems that there is never a shortage of the little guys (where do they come from??).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Really small - like the size of a small pea. I'm not sure what you mean by screen - I don't recall there being anything like that with the unit I purchased.

They come standard with a bunch of small parts but most people use the plastic screen. You could probably find someone willing to give you one if you only need one. Otherwise you might have to purchase one or something like this. http://www.aquabuys.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=aqb&Product_Code=as_prefilter"]

Son of a biscuit - I was robbed! I've never seen any part like that with the MJ1200 I purchased.

If anyone has an extra screen laying around - I would gladly take it off of their hands. Thanks :)

Thanks Matt

Those could be collonista snails, or even euplica versicolor, if you've ever gotten any macro from Serk, or from someone who got something from someone who got.. etc.

I have an extra screen if you would like it.

Thanks guys for the help! Now that I've seen the picture it turns out I do have one of those.

I'm such a noob

Just not sure how that will fit on the pump as my room in that chamber is very limited (Biocube 14)...
