Snail id help

[I got a hitchhiker from Planet Pet attached to some razor caulerpa. It has a shell that is very small for it, and not round that it fits into but rather flat and attached to it's back. It is dark, almost black in color. It moves quickly and it's very flexible, it can arch it's body so that only the front and back part are touching anything. When I first found it, it was lying on it's shell playing with a piece of bubble algae.

Anyone know what this is? And good or bad?

Thanks,
Steve]

[Steve,

I believe it is a Stomatella sp. snail. Do a google search and see if that is right. They are by far the fastest snails around. And...they breed like rabbits  . So they do a lot to add to the zooplankton in closed systems. They are herbivores and their shells can be many different colors.]
