snail habitat question

Hi,

I bought a nerite snail to keep in a bowl but now there are 2 things I think it might not like:

1. I put fine aragonite substrate on the bottom, would that be like walking on broken glass for a snail? Do they prefer glass or relatively smooth rock I would imagine?

2. the walls of the bowl curve upwards. If the snail climbs up then falls on its back, can it still right itself?

Nerites should be able to right themselves, but if you see it upside down for some reason, you can flip it over yourself. It will be fine on sand.

So what's the plan with this bowl tank?
