What do you use to keep snails from getting into the overflow and down the drain pipe? Happened to me last night. Good thing I was here. Some kind of screen?
Small chicken wire would work well but I don't know how long it would take to rust. In my case I took some black plastic from the factory top of my tank and keep it close to the teeth of the overflow (reduces some overflow sound too).
I did some searches and seems some use enkamat and some use gutter guard. Not sure how to secure them so the top of the overflow. Or where to get the enkamat.
Gutter guard looks fine, I would just line the inside of the overflow and let it extend about 2 inches above all the way around on the inside. Cut the excess away and you're all set.
