Steve, whatever happened with your fish fry that you were raising? Some type of goby, if I recall. I would have bumped the thread in question if I could remember the fish name.

Marc - I dunno the final disposition of them, but here's the original thread:

Marc, I thought I had posted about it. Oh well. I had a few left and they have moved into my main tank. I gave a few to some other folks and sadly lost most of them. All and all there were several hundred babies during the entire time I was doing this.

There is very little to no information about raising raising Neon Gobies. (And their growth cycle seems to be a little longer than clowns) I did find some information but in many cases it left out what I believe were important details. When ORA came up for Next Wave I talked to them about it and he was very secretive. I guess overall breeeding fish is a very secretive business. (Even read that somewhere).

At any rate they do breed easily, like clock work and clown fish. If the right setup is in place and you have the right food and lots of space then you should be able to do this as well. Space was an issue for me. I was moving them from tank to tank and even had to start combining ages. Lesson 252 mixed ages not good. Like a shark being called to a seal buffet. In hind sight I shouold have skipped a few breeding cycles to allow time for the current babies to grow out.

I think once I figured out the food issues (rotifers) and using drip systems to feed a continual cycle. (Had to work) Things got better.

All lessons learned I guess. As I stated when I closed my prop room. I will get back into it and plan to try again. But only after I have an improved setup. Much like we talked about at Next Wave.

Anyway I do plan on setting up a new prop system and grow out (Corals and possible breeding). Current plans are to find a location. (In process - sort of) If anyone is interested in a joint venture let me know, I would like to talk to you.

If you have not read my blog on the prop room you can point your browser here - Prop Room Blog

Thanks for the update. I was hoping for better news of course, but we also learn from the unsuccessful experiences shared here.

You made some good points, and I wish you better success on your next attempt. I remembered those adorable little guys and was thinking about how cute they must look by now.
