Skimmer/Refugium question

I just got this butiful PM BUllet 1 protein skimmer and was all set to place in my refugium or outside doesn't make any difference, but as I am reading the setup I find out that the water output is supposed to be level or above the water in the refugium. My problem is that I have a 55G refugium and I would have to place it on top of it and I don't have that much space. Any ideas or solutions people have come up with would be greatly appreciated.

ok got it fixed and will post a pic tomorrow I think I had to reverse the overflow and return pump in the refugium as only 1 end had room and due to water level only the return pump end could fit it.
