Guys,
I have seen on the EureReef and even some of the other brands, that the drain is actually a vertical tube, with a parallel air vent.
My ETSS is a little wide for my sump, with the way the drain is situation (perpendicular to the reaction chamber.
Is there any issue with turning the gate valve vertically and adding a 6-8" piece of 1" pvc to the output ? This would basically save me from getting a new skimmer, or running it externally...
I realize there is going to be additional back pressure on it, and i will likely have to re-tune it, but so long as it remains suspended out of water no more than 7" i am thinking it wouldn't hurt...
Let me know your thoughts, or RECOMMEND a skimmer for low profile / small format.
It can be up to 28" tall, but no more than 8 x 10" base.
Brad
