Skimmer: AquaC Vs. Euroreef

i just bought a rs135 for my 90 gallon. the pump and skimmer is a lot bigger and better than the rs100, and its only 50 bucks more. it was easy to set up.. and started skimming right away. it is also built veeeeeeeeerrrry welll

I had an EV-150 on my 115 for over a year. It worked well enough. Hard to beat a Euroreef. All depends on how badly you want to save $150, because imo the EV could do it if you're not heavily stocked.

I've never owned a EuroReef, so this is one sided... But, my 250 gallon system is skimmed by a AquaC EV-150, and I have no desire to get a bigger or different skimmer...

(Granted, I use large refugia in place of heavy skimming)

I have been researching the same skimmer's for my 90g. The only negative that I have read is the Mag pumps are loud. I guess it would depend on where the tank will be.

I have looked at the ASMg2 also, it is $245 on Ebay.

What do you think?

The ASM G2 will be your best value for performance. It will use less power then the Mag on a AquaC. Euroreefs are excellent but overpriced. I would put money on a euroreef or ASM vs. the AquaC of equal size. Not saying the AquaC is not good, just my opinion.

The Euroreef will run silently (after you modify the output with the gate valve mod), and use less electricity.

The Aqua C will save you money, but you will hear it rumbling.

Either is a good skimmer.
