i wouldnt get a yellow, but if you truly plan to upgrade in the next year, 2 max, and i mean seriously plan to upgrade, then i would get a baby regal. find the smallest one at an LFS that is eating and has been there longer than a week. im talking 1" small.

im not saying it cant be done, heck you can throw him in a 40 breeder, but it is best to have larger tanks for fish that are constantly swimming like tangs to keep them not only healthy, but happy. just because it can be done does not mean it should be. ill admit, ive dont it, but i did it with a 90 gallon tank sitting in my garage waiting to be transferred over. if you really want a yellow tang, again, fiind a small one, but make sure you are dedicated to getting a larger tank. tangs get big, and they need the space to thrive.

yellow tangs are one of the smallest tangs. I have one in my 40 breeder. Just make sure you get one that is small. And make sure you have the proper filtration/skimmer. They poop A LOT! Also look into a yellow eye kole tang. They stay pretty small also.
