Silicon baking mats to silence pumps and sumps

I been talking about this for a lil while and people inquired where I get them, what they look like etc. I had to pick up one today so I snapped a a pic for you guys. We moved my monster calcium reactor under the kitchen cabinets yesterday. The pump was causing the entire cabinets reverberate with a low hum. This rectified the problem.

I have used the same product under my sump, skimmers, and other pumps to silence them. Everyone complains mag pumps are so loud but you can't even hear mine. The loudest part of my aquarium is now the Maristar fans (they suck) and the vortechs.

Purchased from target for 9 dollars and some change.

This is very good Idea. I saw you post it on someone elses thread and with my new build I am going to buy these. Thanks for the idea.

Can you cut the mats into smaller pieces and use them inside your sump? Under skimmer, return, ect...

Thanks for this post. I was just fighting this mag issue last night on my new neo 90 setup I just got running

The box is to the right of the mat in the picture. I'll try to get a better pic tonight.

Yes you can cut it however you like. It's very soft and squishy. I use regular scissors
