[This little video show how a Porcelain crab will extend its feeders to catch food as it flows past it. Each arm has a delicate wing that it holds out like a sail and it pulls it back in repeatedly as it "licks" them clean. :D

[marc dont you really have better stuff to do at 3 oclock in the morning than making a video of a crab eat? i think youve got a problem ]

[You're right. The Truth-Hurts. :D

I'm a night owl. Years ago, someone nick-named me The Nocturnal Carpenter, because I'd get my second wind around 11pm and be at it for another 6 hours.

Plus, nothing here to distract me as all is quiet.]

[Do your fish sleep??? What are your lights doing on at 3am in the morning? Or do they come on at midnight and go off in the morning?]

[Yes, my fish sleep. I didn't shoot the video at 3am. Matter of fact, I was taking pictures of Salsini's tank for this month's newsletter, and when I got home I was going through my images and the videos to see what was worth using.

My Fuji S602Z digital camera can shoot video, but macro video isn't really possible. Plus I broke my tripod at Ron's, so I had to shoot hand-held. It wasn't that steady unfortunately.

Then I imported that short AVI video into Microsoft Movie Maker (Windows XP) and found all those nifty options to add titles and credits and such. I'd used that program in the past, but when I upgraded my computer recently, I went to Microsoft to download all the critical patches, and apparently I got an upgrade for MMM as well. I've noticed the AVI looks much better than the WMV file, but the file size is smaller so loss of video quality is to be expected.

If I'd posted it during the afternoon instead of at 3am, the focus would have been on the visuals rather than my personal schedule. ??? :(]
