Several pictures - dialup beware

Finally cleanup my tank, and I added another Tunze Stream 6100. So there is a total of 4 Tunze 6100 + wavebox. Main return pump is Mag 12. Joe did a great job on extending sea-swirl to the bottom of the tank to help with detrius built up problem. We will see how this work. All the live rock is stack in such way that flow can go through the bottom. Seaswirl is connected to Mag 12. My 3 little yellow belly regal tangs are growing. I got rid of all Mont. Cap. They were just taking up too much space.

Couple LPS and other corals. I did not take many pictures so only have couple photos to share.

I always wanted a rainbow Acan. So here it is. Not really all that colorful, but it may take some time. It is growing quite rapidly though.

This Acan colony was purchased at Extreme Coral - I got it because there is a hint of yellow. Well, good news is that it's coloring up. Bad news is that it's going to be red and green - already have that combination.

This micromussa is growing very nicely and relatively fast. See the right side of slightly brighter heads. This colony is next to orange plate coral for color comparison.

Finally some zoo's growing on starboard.

Looks good, Peter. Boy has your tank changed over the years!

Thank you Marc. I'm still learning what works and what does not after having this tank for 3+ years.

Russ - I'm using Aquaspace light, 2 x 250 DE 10 K + 1 x 150 DE 20K in the middle. Light bulbs are 2 years old now.

Kevin - Thank you. Two weeks ago the front and size of this tank is covered with pink/purple coraline alage. It feels good to clean up the tank. But I think the tank is still too crowded.

Peter, while you are watching this thread, may I ask a question? I know, without a picture, but - I bought a frag from you, and I would like to know what it is called.

It looks like a staghorn, has red branches with purple tips, and has turned green where it attaches to the rock. The polyps are sort of the same red as the branches. It glows flourescent green under VHO. If it helps, I purchased it at the Frag Swap.

Can you tell me what it is?

IT sort of looks like this one, from what I can tell:

It looks like the one I circled above - guess you replied about the same time I was working on the picture :D

But no, the slimer I got from you was thicker in the branches. This one is thin, and branches off the main branch, like a hand.

Picture Update - first photo is taken with flash - and second without flash. So there is a white balance issue in these two pictures. But I want a picture of frags for growth comparison months down the road - assume that frags survive and I don't move them to another location. I like to move corals around when I re-do aquascape.

I thought the first picture show the light fixture as well as the small blower that I got from Walmart. Marc helped me put a piece of acrylic that covers the coverflow box where the fan sits on.

And frags from ReeferMadness are mounted in the center of the tank. Couple are turning white - but there is still a small hope they may survive.

Man, your slimer looks like a sequoia tree in the back. It is so thick! Nice pictures, and great colors.

Thanks Marc.

I let the Tunze Stream stay on all the time to increase the flow - and consequently blow off (aka kill off) one fourth of the colony. I have since change Multicontroller to 2 on and 2 off. I'm sure the slimer will grow back again.

Still making silly mistakes after keeping reef for 6+ years.

I have that same fan("blower") on my tank. The tank looks awesome and #1 in my book can't wait to see it next week. That rainbow acan enchinata looks very good in my opinion.

My friend Joe was looking for one and we went to Walmart in North MacArthur, Irving on Thursday. We did not find any. They have changed to heaters now.
I wish that I can find one or two more for backup.

Sorry to hear about your Reefer Madness frags turning white. I might have to wait a few more weeks to make sure my tank is stable before buying something from them.

Chris
