Setting up the Tank

Hi DFW,

Quick question, I waiting on my tank to show up and should be this weekend. I already have the sand for it and was thinking can i put my sand and saltwater in it. As well as the live rock I have from my prior tank prob around 50 pounds to help the tank start cycling. While this is happing I wanted to get some dry rock and build my aquascape to add late

Sure, nothing wrong with that unless you plan on cooking your existing rock due to issues with pests or phosphates. If you're setting up a new tank, it is a golden opportunity to do your aquascaping the way you want it and to take care of cooking existing rock to get rid of any unwanted pests, algae, or phosphate that has been leaching out.
