Setting up a 6gal bowfront

I have an old 6 gallon bowfront that used to be a freshwater tank. I've been wanting to set it up for SW for some time.
What kind of backpack would be best? I've heard that an aquaclear 500 would be good, but I'm betting that would be too much flow.
Also, I ahve no idea what I'd put in it. Perhaps a small mantis shrimp? A very small goby?

I just want to use it for something. It'd be a good QT tank, but I'd like to have someting in it fulltime...

My 3g has its own sump right behind it out of a 2.5g tank.. I love the extra water volume I get from it. 6g you have a big higher range of fish to get but still it would be tough. If it was my tank I'd go with some sort of cleaner or peppermint shrimp and a goby. My yellow watchman is really fun to watch, its been a few months and he's finally able to hang out in the open for extended periods of time without getting scared of everything. Maybe a pseudochromis, goby, or similar. Its your tank though so its your decision in the end.

I bought a Flame Angel from Franks Tanks over the weekend, and am currently using the 6 gal as a QT. I think when I'm done, I might just see about picking up a paired goby/pistol shrimp to put in it. Failing that, I'll be on the lookout for a small mantis shrimp....

Beat me to it...
I was just going to suggest a goby/shrimp pair....

I'm also partial to red headed gobies...
a ton of personality, and once they settle in, they come out to check "you" out...

I'm starting to think that perhaps there isn't enough flow coming from the backpack. I'm using my old little backpack with just some LR in it, as well as some filter floss. Anyone have a suggestion for a good backpack? (inexpensive, that is...)

if your 6 gallon tank is thin glass a mantis will break it easily if you get the smasher type...if you go slasher it will be fine but you wont be able to keep fish in with the mantis

you can put a mini jet for movement..in my opinion skimmers are not needed on small nanos if you do a gallon water change a week
