Serpent star question

[Well, I'm missing a fish...bluefin damsel to be exact. I know I don't have a mantis, cause I didn't have one before, and I haven't added any more LR. I just read something on RC, and was wondering if a huge serpent star could've eaten a weak damsel. If so, what and how do I need to feed him to keep him from eating anything else.

[Not sure if your serpant star ate your fish or not, but I feed mine about once a week with a piece of frozen shrimp or silverside and that seems to keep him happy. :cool grin:]
 
[I doubt that he caught him. If anything the damsel just died and the cleanup crew took care of the remains before you knew it. I try to target feed my brittle star once a week if I can find out where he's at, if I miss him he's a pretty good scavanger!]
 
[I'm pretty sure that the star is happy, I feed him half an algae tablet like twice a week, whe I can find him. All I have to do is get it close, and he goes nuts with it. Now that I think about it, it's very possible that the fish just died...he was half the size of the other one, and was purchesed at the same time. Oh well, I guess most people would be happy that one of the damsels was gone...lol
