Seahorse-Corals and Fish stock

I have decided on getting a Seahorse. There seems to be a lot of CB here in Plano for sale at a decent price. I currenlty have a 24 Cube stocked with 2 fish and a bunch of corals. I plan on getting rid of my
Royal Dottyback if I can figure out a way to catch him. I think he may be aggressive to the horse so I dont want to take a chance. Anyway I am only going to get 1 horse because the size of my tank. Question is what kind of horse would be best, breed type, male or female, any particular aquascaping I should consider. Any types of Corals I should be worried about. Here is my current stock now.

(I was also thinking about adding a pipefish in this setup with the horse. Any issues with that?)

50 lbs of live rock
Ricordias
Mushrooms
Zoo's
Button Polyps
Featherdusters
Small Hammer
Small Acorapora
Cleaner Shrimp
Blue and Scarlet Hermits
All types of Snails
2 Emerald Crabs
Bi Color Blennie

I think thats it.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Seahorses will do fine with most corals, but need hitching posts. Artificial or bleached and cured branching coral will work.

Check out Seahorse.Org for appropriate tank mates. :D

I would stay away from the larger species of seahorses in a 24 cube. Reidi and Erectus both get large 6-8 inches tall. The cube does not offer much height for a varried enviornment. Rather than a pipefish, consider a 2nd seahorse.

Make sure the seahorse you select is eating frozen. PE Mysis is considered the gold standard. Have the shop feed them and see if they eat.

Best of luck....
