Saw something new tonight

[Lights were out, and I was feeding my sun coral with a flashlight to see. Suddenly I saw these very short orange worms swimming through the water. Then I saw white ones. There were probably 20 or 30 in my 55g, all scurrying through the water, swimming up to the surface... just hanging out. I did try to get some pictures, and went ahead and shot some video.

The orange guys were very thin, maybe 2mm wide, and about 5 - 6mm long. Unreal to see something like that after a couple of years of observing.

The white ones were longer, maybe 3/4" long, but just as thin. They would wriggle their bodies like a snake at high speed. And they moved relatively fast, as they swam in the water. The powerheads were all off, so there was no current to move them nor to fight against.]

[I just posted my question in Dr Ron's forum on RC. Here are two pictures I took tonight. In the first picture, you can see how small they are compared to a nassarius snail. In the second picture, one is darting through the water right as the shutter captured this moment in time.

[I didnt think Dr. Ron would answer questions posted after thursday? Just in case he doesnt you may want to repost it Monday morning.]

[No rush. I never worry about this stuff. If he doesn't see it, I'll revive the thread. Thanks for the heads-up.

Imagine that - he's not available 24/7?]

[I got lots of em. I always thought they were normal so I am crossing my fingers. Before my Xmas wrasse jump he would eat them if you shined the flashlight on them.]

[I noticed I had some of these the last few times I was getting out the newly hatched maroon clownfish. They are quick little critters!]

[Marc and Mitch,

I have these also, so I will be waiting to hear Dr Ron's reply.

Marc,

Great video. Is it created with the short video available in you digital camera? Did you add the titles and music on the PC after you downloaded the video?]

[Yes, the camera can shoot as much video as my batteries and card can hold. Up to 48 minutes worth!

I've been working with the videos with Microsoft Movie Maker - it comes with Windows XP.

Here's the next video - don't skip the credits.
