Salinity Drop

Hey all,

I have had my 55 setup for a while now , was running with a simple hang on filter and decided to go with a sump. I installed the sump but must have goofed on the salinity of the added water. It dropped from 1.024 to 1.018. Everythign has been closed up for a few days now and not looking good. I got the salinity lvl back to normal as of yesterday so I am still praying for things to start bouncing back. does anyone have any advise of wat else I can do to help this situation ?

if u have already corrected then it is fine now but for future reference raising salinity is normally harder on your inhabitants than lowering it so i would just make sure to do that slowly.

Thanks for advise Wes I have slowly increased salinity to about 1.023 and still lookin bad, started a new cycle looks like. Just found a 6 inch bristle worm layin on my sandbed, this is most def a bad sign. [smilie=crying.gif]

If you ever need to double check your salinity I have a calibrated pinpoint salinity monitor so you can compare whatever your using. Thks Mike!
