Little on te expensive side for the homeowner - and apparently a bit hard on the blade when it trips - but pretty cool.

I don't even do any wood working, but that's pretty sweet, I want one!

But..... $2700 IS pretty steep...

Okay, either I'm going to quit using mine, or get one of these. That's absolutely amazing.

Think it'll show up on Woot anytime soon?

Please call me immediately if you see this on Woot - or buy two if the price is right and I'll definitely take the second.

It was demo'd on This Old House last night.

Tommy wouldn't stick his finger in it (duh) but it really was amazing to see how fast it pulled the blade down when it hit the hotdog. On the PVR the blade was up in one frame and down the next.

The noise from the spring / clutch was intense enough you would jump backwards in a major hurry (then go for clean undies also in a big hurry).

I did a little more research on that site last night. When that safety engages, the blade and the safety system have to be replaced, but that's less than $200 versus a major injury.

The site does talk about how it doesn't guarantee you won't ever be hurt or maimed, but it definitely reduces the danger level. I love it, plus the huge table makes it even more tempting. The price goes up as all the add-ons are included though. :(
