[[[Does anyone here keep some actinic lights on all the time? ][I work an odd shift and have to have a light schedule that I can live with but do not want to do so at the expense of my reef.][ ][I know that in the hobby the best scenario is to use a light schedule as close to nature as possible, but I’m wondering how stressful having the blue lights on at night really is.][ ][Except during the new moon the ocean always has a bit of light.][ ][What would be the least or shortest period of total darkness a hobbyist could have to keep corals and fish healthy.]]] [[[I have a 60 gallon tank with only LPS Softies and 7 fish. ][About 200 watts LEDs.][ ][Lights come on at 3:00PM full spectrum, and off at 11P when I leave for work.. When I come home at 06:00am I like having some light to check out everything before going to bed.][ ][Before I was just leaving actinic on all the time, but have been advised that the reef needs at least 12 hours of total darkness.][ ][This advice comes from a really good source, who has never been wrong before, so I’ll do this, but would like to hear some opinions from some of our seasoned reefers out there.][ ][If there is any way to light a tank at night without stressing the eco system I’d love to hear it.]]] [[Thanks]]
