Rowaphos in a Phosban reactor

I got a new phosban reactor and bought Rowaphos instead of the phosban brand to try something different. Does the Rowaphos work with the phosban reactor? I remember reading that it did, but there is no movement at the top of the media. I have the inlet going into the center, down the tube and the outlet is on the side of the top. I have it turned all the way up and there is still no movement of the media. Do I have it hooked up wrong or is the Rowaphos too heavy for it? I have a MJ 400 as the pump.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rowaphos works well with Phosbans.

Seeing movement on the surface of the stuff isn't as important as just having a very slow flow coming out the other end. Try to get it to around 30gph at most.

To make sure you have it hooked up right, you do have the inlet on the center connection and the outlet on the side connection, right?

With a 400 MJ should I turn it down halfway? I have it going full blast now to try to get some movement.

Thanks for the reply.

Hard to tell how much to turn them down by because depends a lot on how much resistance is between the input and output.

since the pump is rated at 100gph, half way would probably read closer to 30gph after resistance factor, so should work out well.

Is there anyway you can see the flow of the output? should be a slow small steady flow coming out. slower the better with this stuff as gives more chance to absorb.

Movement doesn't matter. What you want is the effluent coming out to test zero for PO4. If it comes out with anything above 0, slow it down until it comes out zero.
