Rock die off

I have some live rock I got from an established tank that I moved into my tank. There's been a lot of die off and I have been getting what I can from under and around the rock, though I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff I can't see.

I haven't really noticed much fresh die off today (its been in for 2-3 days), so my question is should I be removing all the rock daily to get to the hidden die off, or can I just wait until things stabilize a little more and than clear out the die off?

Originally planned to remove the rock daily, but seeing bristle worms in every crevice made me reluctant to ever handle live rock again  Though I feel bad killing the bristles, so they have to stay or die on their own :?

Hi

Can you elaborate further....is your tank cycling and you added cured LR???? Not sure I follow you here. :?

Cheers,

The tank was cycling about a week before I added the rock, and I added fully cured rock. I've been removing all the die off I can see.

Just wondering if I need to remove the rock every day to clear the die off I can't see, or if I can get away with clearing the hidden die off when the tank is cycled.

Don't remove it or rinse it!!!

Why would you? Let it go and let the die off be processed naturally by your system.

I recently added 150 pounds of rock freshly shipped in from fiji, to my new 100 gallon tank. Upon unboxing it and adding it to the tank I had a lot of cardboard particles attached, and LOTS of die off. I added some blue pad filter media to catch the big pieces flowing through the sump and manually removed those, but whatever's on the rock just leave it and let it get processed. It's been 2 weeks now and all of the cardboard and junk is gone, just a small amount of stuff on the rock is left.

Let it get taken care of by it's self, and you will be better off than rinsing it.

haha def. not going to rinse it, there are some polyps and other cool stuff on the rock.

There's just been some die off falling on the sand and I guess I don't really need to remove the rock and remove every last dead bristle or what not?

In one of my tanks I have 350lb of rock and I just took a bristle brush and gave each rock a light brushing before I placed it in the water....nothing to severe. Just enough to get the paper off and didn't worry about any dead stuff. All now have a thick coat of purple and green algae and all kinds of growth of new creatures is happening.
