Rock Anemone

I've had a few in my tank since collecting them on the jetties in Port Aransas. They seem to be pretty hardie and non agressive. Seem to hide most of the time though. Have had them since the summer and no problems. Hope this helps!!

I bought one very cheap and was wondering. Read up on it, but was still skeptical. Found a place for it I thought it would like and it has stayed put. Hopefully it doesn't wonder, as these are poisonous. One bad thing .....I don't think they host clownfish. Tentacles are very small. Thanks for the info.

No, nothing hosts in a Rock Anemone. They are super sticky and can take out a fish if the opportunity arises. They are very pretty though. I've had two or three over the years.

I've seen some really fantastically colored ones online and I'm actually looking to get another one or two myself. I currently have one just like the one you have pictured and love it. In a year and a half, it's never moved and is always wide open. I used to feed it at the same time that I would feed my BTAs, but I stopped months ago without any apparent ill effects. Never had any problems with fish, but just like any other coral or nem it needs its space. Generally seems much less finicky about placement and easier to keep than the BTAs.

any nem has the potential to roam, and they could seem happy for a very long time and then all of a sudden walk across everything in your tank stinging away
