I have a 5 stage 100gpd unit that I was using to make water today. I noticed after it had been running for awhile the output had almost come to a complete stop. There was just a small amount of water coming out. I knew I was a few months behind on my filter changes, so I went ahead and swapped out the sediment and carbon filters.
I turned it back on and not a lot changed with the output. The unit was making a clicking sound coming from the check valve/waste line area. I removed both and checked them. (troubleshooting steps from Marc's site). When I reinstalled the check valve the clicking noise did go away and the water output did increase a little, but not back to what it normally outputs.
If my math is correct it should normally make about 4 gallons per hour, but right now it is putting out a rate of less than 1 gallon per hour.
Any other recommended places to check on the unit? It still could be a problem with the check valve, but it did stop making the clicking noise.

Update - I tested the flow through each element and did not notice anything out of the ordinary. I thought it was fixed, I had a steady stream output. I went back 10 minutes later and the steady stream was now stopped and hardly anything was coming out.
The only way to get a steady output is to restrict the waste water output a little more. This is probably just masking the problem though.
