Ro/di  cartrige leak? fix-it - Out of expencive thread tape?

[:;):
So your out again of that Plumbers Thread Tape,($1.99 per 20ft stuff at Home Depot) well not to worry.

Had that dreaded leak, around your RO/DI twist-on chambers and you can not get it to stop leaking or dripping, until you twist it so tight you break/split the plastic on the top of the chamber?

Well not to worry, you do not have to make a run to the H-Depot or Ace Hardware for that silly white tape, for the price gouging $1.99 they charge.
It is as simple as going to your Kitchen cabinet,( or where-ever you have your Suran Wrap/ Sandwhich wrap) and get that out. Cut a 18inch piece, lay it flat on the counter, get a box cutter knife, or single razor blade, slice one third off, on the long direction, fold it over into thirds.
There you have a tape to do the same job and you did not even have to leave the comfort of your home.
Give the tape you made a tight 1 and 1.5 to 2 turns around the center of your threads and tighten the Chamber on well to the top so the seal is still made in the center of the chamber and you are off and running again.
I do not know how many times I have heard that a person has split the chamber and or just can not get a good seal, so there RO/DI unit drips. We have been doing this for 12-14 years, since we got our first RO system and have never had to buy the SKIMPY/Expensive! Plumbers Thread tape, for the $1or1.99 type price. Save some money and try this, it works on many other things as well.

Good luck and good fishing.
