Return Pump

I am getting a 180 delivered on saturday! It has two overflows and I'm trying to figure out a return pump. I was pointed towards a Waveline 12000 but the reviews aren't greate. I have two mp40s for flow. I can't remember the size of the overflow holes right now just trying to get some other options.

I would look at the ecotech marine vectra line, the m1 would be plenty big enough for a return pump. If you don't have a budget Look at the red dragons you can almost guarantee it will out last your interest in the hobby, even it you never lose interest.

I have a waveline DC10000 II. The pump its self is great in comparison to the noise and power consumption of Mag Drive pumps, although I've had a slew of controller issues. The first two issues were a fan failure and the fan has since been replaced with a much larger heat sink, so that won't get you. The warranty response has been great from Salty Supply, and acceptable from RLSS. New controller shipped quickly with few questions the first two times, and the entire system replaced this last time. Fingers crossed that it keeps up.

In my case it is on a freshwater tank that also has an MP60, so losing the return pump isn't a huge deal. If I were putting up a reef system and felt the return pump was that critical I would be using two in parallel no matter what brand. At that point it's up to you if you want two good ones, or two cheaper ones and hope they don't go out at the same time.

I was thinking about two but the sump I bought won't fit two. Contemplating getting another sump that will fit everything I want.

I have two different wave lines, a 12000 and a 6000. Both have had multiple issues and although wave line has been good about warranty repairs it has been very inconvenient. My next return pump will be the vectra.

I'm betting he has had the same issues I've had with the jaebo 12000. First one lasted about a year motor would just stop spinning. Swapped in a new one left the original power supply. About 6 months later power supply failed. Now I'm officially on my second one that is coming up on the 12 month mark so I'm expecting it to fail. But for the cost to me it seems like it is still a decent buy as a new impeller cost on other brands are about the same cost as a new jaebo 12000
