Return pump recommendations waterblaster, diablo, sicce

I am currently running an Iwaki MD70RLT. My wife hates the new pump. Our system is in our living room and she says it is too loud. I guess it is time for a new pump. I have plenty of room in my sump so I am looking at going with a submersible pump. I am looking at the waterblaster hy7000, diablo DC 5000 and the Sicce Syncra 5.0. Key words are quiet and dependable. Any suggestions on these 3 pumps or a similar pump?

I just added a waveline dc12000 to replace my dart and it is extremely quiet and adds little heat to the water. I actually ordered a second one to replace my eheim, a waveline dc4000. I've only had it for a month but I like it so far.

Reef Octopus 5500 is the first pump I've had fail in the first year of operation. Coralvue has very nice customer service, had a new pump in about a week. It is a very quiet pump, but "dependable" is questionable to me at this point.

My mag 18 is quiet ....but Im not sure on the Iwaki you have if its the American or Japanese....there is a big difference in noise and power consumption.

Second for coral vues service, it's very good. I had a skimmer pump go out and they replaced it no questions asked. Don't know anything about their return pumps tho.

I have the Japanese style. I am leaning towards the Sicce Silent 5.0 or the Waveline 6000. I like the waveline and the ability to control your pump. Sicce is an Italian brand and known for their silent pumps.

I know kthomas has a sicce and loves it. But im leaning towards the DC for the control factor as well.

Sent from inside the shark tank!

I have the Tunze Silence. It lives up the name. I've had it for three years with no issues. Best pump I have ever owned.
In this case, you do get what you pay for. A small, powerful, reliable and very quiet pump.

Yep. I vouche for it. I run a sicce and after 6 years of running Mag pumps I can't believe I waited this long to switch. Yes they're pricier but you can find some used for a decent price. I lucked out and found my 5 for 20% off plus free shipping from petmountain.com
