Return Pump Advice

I'm currently running a Mag9.5 for a return on my 75g RR. It's a bit much so I've got it throttled back a bit with a ball valve. It's also a little noisy and I'd like to quite it down a bit. I'm thinking about using a Eheim pump, either the EH1250 or the EH1260.

1250 317 gph 6'7" 28W 3/4" 1/2" 7.1" x 3.8" x 4.7" 3.5 lbs
1260 635 gph 12'1" 65W 1" 3/4" 8.6" x 4.6" x 6.3" 6.0 lbs

I will not be keeping SPS in this tank only a couple of fish and some soft corals. Which pump to you all recommend I go with? I'd appreciate any advice.

The smaller one with less wattage will work fine on your tank as a return pump assuming you don't have a HOB overflow.
