retrofitting lighting on jbj 3g pico

I recall that we had a contest awhile back using these tanks, and people could do what they wanted with them. The lighting that is supplied with it is pretty minimal and barely keeps mushrooms alive. What solutions have people come up with to keep more corals? Would you share?

i retro'd the stock light with led's, but it ran too hot and overheated. I ended up just buying the par38 led bulb from nanotuners
 
I have been looking at those bulbs, but they look huge. What fixture do you have it plugged into and how do you have it rigged up over the tank?
