Remora Question

I have an older Remora with a Rio pump that was doing the same thing. Ended up being the air intake line was clogged. I had to take the valve off and clear it out and then it started working like a champ again.

If your air intake is in an area that gets a decent amount of salt spray, you may want to consider moving it to a less "splashy" area...this can be done by replacing the airline tubing with a longer piece, or by hanging it slightly over the edge of the sump away from the spray.

u could make sure the spray tip isnt clogged up it should be white and it will screw out said:
Be careful with the screw if you go too far when putting it back in it will be very difficult to get back our I am told.

Alex,

I have a remora pro and had the same problem until I got a bigger pump (mag 5) what model/pump are you using?

I've got the Pro with a Mag 3 and I usually have to get a pretty wet skimmate to get anything. In fact, if I don't get a wet skimmate, I can let my collection cup go for 2-3 weeks without changing it at all which doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps I'll try to the Mag 5 now as it's only $40 or so. Is the Mag 5 louder than the Mag 3?
