Has anyone tried the 14 in hob refugium with built in protein skimmer that is sold on aqua traders? I'm looking to buy a refugium and skimmer, and this one combines both. It's only $73 after tax with free shipping

The company has a really bad rep. The hob fuge looks ok and will likely work better that that skimmer. IMO save your $$ and search the sale forum for good used hob skimmer.

Thanks for the response. I'm trying to figure out what the best filtration option I'm going to need. I have a 35 gallon cube, there isn't any room for a sump under the stand. This is my first saltwater tank so I'm still learning aboutnthe different equipment

I have a larger one on my 55G with an Accela 1000 powerhead. I have no problem with it and it is doing OK so far. Just be careful not to screw in the inlet pipe to tightly. It may break! Instead, use plumber's tape or something like that to prevent the inlet and outlet leaking.

I am currently checking into modifying one of my AQ 110's into a refugium. There are alot of videos out there about it...if you already had one of these, it might save some bucks..I havent done it myself, but was considering it because i have 2 110's on my 55 gallon....

I would only have room for a smaller aquaclear. I was just thinking of combining the two into one fixture
