Reef Tank came apart at the seams!!

My 30 Oceanic Reef ready w/sump/refuge started coming apart in the upper corner and started leaking like crazy.

Fortunately I had a spare 30.

I got all the rock out, corals, fish, stars, yada yada out. My live sand is still in the old tank.

I yanked the sump pump and dropped it in the tank along w/the 600 GPH powerhead. Grabbed my back pack from the sump and hung it on the back to find a pretty good leak from the pickup line. I had some spare o-rings I attemped to install and as I tightened the assy snapped.

Can anything else go wrong tonight???

So there sits the old tank w/the 2 or 3 inches of live sand and a sump w/calurpa and who knows what else going dead and a tank without a protein skimmer.

Where can I grab a 58 reef oceanic or somthing and some backpack parts on a Sunday?

Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Never EVER challenge the Fates! It can ALWAYS get worse!!

Sorry to hear this happened, but it sounds like you've got it under control, relatively speaking.

Go to the LFS page, and start calling around in the morning to see who's open, and who might have the things you're needing:

Off the top of my head, Aquarium Trading Company, Boutique Pets, Aquatic Trading are open on Sundays, but there are others on your side of town that prolly are too, I'm just not as familiar with those stores...

Good luck!!!

Pet-O-Rama opens at 12 noon on Sunday. They have just about everything.

Are you looking for a CPR Bak-Pac? I have an idle dual Bak-Pac that was on my 40Gal hex. You are certainly welcomed to use it in a pinch. I live in Southlake so I'm close. Send PM for info.

Kudos to Dallas North Aquarium and Mike for fixing me up w/a Oceanic 58RR and stand!

Kyle, thanks for your loaning me your Bac-Pac!

The new tank now has the old live sand, or at least I put it in there. If/when the water clears I'll know for sure.

What a mess. Need to check the water too. Have a feeling a water change or two will be in order. Never tried setting up a tank this way.
