[Have y'all see the TOTM on RC yet? smiller (Steve Miller) was given this honor, and Travis took the majority of the images.

Is Smiller one of our club members, or did Travis go a long way away to take those pictures? I thought smiller was our own DAS115, but I was told that is a different Steve.

Regardless, excellent tank and a nice write-up. Travis, great job with that toy of a camera you got. :laugh long:]

[I belie he must be local. he speaks of Rick who lives in Allen. I remember Rick saying that his brother in law got him started and donated lots of frags.

That tank is Nice!]

[Yes, Rickeejb is the brother in law, and he attended Macna last year (which was here in Ft Worth), and he told me on RC that he'll be seeing me at Macna this weekend as well.]

[Steve lives in Gun Barrel City, about an hour and a half from where I am in Plano. Member or not, he's a great guy, awesome tank and very giving with the frags. :)

I posted some more pics from his tank here:

He had me do the portrait for TOTM but I couldn't spill the beans. :)

He is definitely going to MACNA this weekend.

Travis]

[Thanks Travis, I was hoping you'd chime in.

I ordered a small pile of goodies for my camera, including an adaptor tube and some interesting filters. Got a great deal for all the stuff, unless it is pure junk. :stare:

Btw, have you ever used "Neutral Density" filters? The site I shopped had three kinds, which would block out the brightness but not affect color. I thought that would be interesting, but didn't buy it.]

[:;):
See that Gragorian tree on left?
I own it now. It is a nice little tree and has a great group of small zooiee's under it.
His tank is great and colors are wonderful. He is an exceptionally great person and gave me 200 in frags for 80bucks.
I have some nice stuff from him and if you get a chance you can visit the tree and some of his frags, right here. My bright green and orange monti caps are doing great and growing like wild fire now.
Great person and great tank, a fine person in the art of this hobby.

ps:
He is way out at Cedar Creek area? I think it is.]

[Yeah Steve's tank is nice. He has had unbelievable growth in his corals in the last year or eighteen months. Not to make anybody envious, but that huge Derasa clam in the middle of the tank on the sand is now in my tank. I kept telling him he was going to have to give it to me and he finally did. He was just too crowded in his tank. It pays to get a bigger tank than your brother-in-law especially when his looks like it does. :D]

[Well lets say the move went not as I had hoped. Through a series of things that happened, the old tank started crashing. So we ended up having to move everything at a very frantic pace, trying to save as much as possible. I ended up losing about 30% of my sps corals and 1 fish. And since we really were not sure what was going on to cause the crash or anything else that might be wrong. We felt it prudent not to give out any of that old sandbed to anyone. Maybe it would have been allright, but under the circimstances we felt it better to dump all of it. I apologize to anyone whom made any effort to get any of it. As far as the old tank and stand, my wife sold it to somebody that works for us. I hope that was not a mistake. My new tank is looking really nice and I added 5 new sps corals that I brought home from MACNA last weekend.]

[Congrats to Steve!

Rick, sorry to hear that man... You're welcome to a frag of anything I got(though the selection is down to mostly softies now). :)]

[Rick, how are those frags doing? I've been wondering for days.

Duane, I learned how to cut up them softies at MACNA. :wwww:]

[Duane, thanks for the offer. Believe it or not with the sps I got at MACNA, the frags I got from Steve, and Scott over at Salwater Paradise I have already replaced the number of sps I lost in the move. I need to get this stuff growing and see how it all fits. How did your reemodeling go? Sorry you did not make to Louisville. But I am telling you now, you need to get next years MACNA on your calendar. They are really planning a big show.

Marc, all the stuff I brought home Sunday did great, Not a problem with one of them. I guess all went right with you and your rock. I never did see you at baggage claim.]

[
Marc was in the back @ DEA/FBI office, where they were looking at the rock as a drug problem. From what I hear, they let him go beacuse he is not selling it like DNA for $16 per lb.
:laugh long:
It is a personal consumption issue/problem. We will all have to help him with it as a group.

Marc, SOOOOOOO
when can we come over and help ourselves to you problem?
I will take a lb off your hands. I know the DEA said your not allowed to sell the stuff. :wwww:]

[That's great Rick!

Actually, I did have my smaller box checked, as it was probably odd looking under the x-ray machine. It had a large battery charger (for my digital camera) and 2 10lb boxes of Instant Ocean, along with a compressed amount of clothing that no longer fit my carry-on.

Not only did they open it up, but they opened up the salt boxes as well, probably wondering if the white stuff really was salt! :)

In a way, it's really cool that they did that. I feel a bit more safer knowing they went the extra mile.

I can't remember why I didn't get to baggage claim sooner, but when I did, no-one was there but my two boxes circling the conveyor. I'm glad no-one stole my box of LR, which was marked in huge letters. Any saltwater lover might have thought "COOL!" and nabbed it.]

[
Sure it was salt, always wondered what you did for a living. Smuggling salt for a living is just not right. :rool eyes: :taz: :wwww:

My guess is that they have your name and address under the ?able files. They will probably raid your door, at 3:00am, one month from now, to see how much Salt? you really have for personal consumption.]
