redsea prizm protien skimmer

I have a redsea protien skimmer that I am having problems with. I can not seem to get it adjusted right. It's either to wet or puts out a ton of bubbles in to the tank. I am I doing something wrong. HELP. TIA

Did you get your issue solved? I used to have a Prizm and I was always having to adjust it. But you have to do small adjustments and wait before making another one.

kind Matt these are the not so good for the high cost ...they do work but so does affirmative action and about as well

I replaced my Prizm with a Tunze 9002 unit. They are pricey but do a great job. I'm sure there are other well made units as well. Read the forums there are I'm sure a ton of recommendations as well as the "stay away from" skimmers. I have a NIB Berlin Airlift 60 but I don't know if it's a good skimmer, so I'm skeptical to post FS. It came with a package deal.

These are fairly difficult to keep dialed in appropriately to avoid overflows and/or zero skimmate production. You can make them work for you but it will require you to keep the skimmer clean and regularly adjust it as needed. Simple things such as feeding or putting your hands in the tank can and will cause the skimmer to react. If you plan to stick with a HOB type skimmer said:
Back when I was running a 30 hex and a 20 frag this is exactly the same problem I had. I got mine adjusted and really didn't have any issues from feeding or putting hands in the tank. It was my evaporation that always caused my skimmer to get out of whack. Just a 1/2 drop in water level (which in a 30 hex happens REAL FAST) would throw the skimmer off.

I replaced with a used Remora. MUCH better. In short, if it's all you have use it. If you can swing it, get rid of it and step into a better skimmer.

right now I think I've got it doing what it is supposed to do. I did have to play with it alot. It's been running about a week now. I just adjust it a little every few days. and it seems to be doing better. Thanks for all of your help
