I got a chance to try out Red Sea's new bundle pack of tests (Alkalinity, Calcium and Magnesium). Here's the full product review:

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

This kit has nice packaging but aside from that does not look that much different for other test kits on the market. I find your comment on the Mag test interesting. I assume that you can purchase individual test and that will bring the cost down, if not I don't see the reason to change kits.

Nice report.

Yes, they do sell them separately. The bundle kit should save a little bit on the cost. Wes is using this kit, and Frank has one at his store.

i am going to be eating crow marine depot had the reef kit alk ca and mg for sale $10 off i bought one and i admit this test kit is 300% better than the old test kits.

one thing i really like is refills are around $13 on brs but you need to but the original kit as the refill is just refill. no titrator or color comparaison sheets

the cheap refills is the best part and a genius way to approach things if you ask me.

Now that may be a reason to change. At least the Alk and Ca for me anyway.

I love the way you can attach it to the top and it seems to be a lot easier to use compaired to past kits I have used.

I will bring a sample Saturday also for you to test marc [smilie=lol.gif]

#1, that's a good idea, Wes. Lance bring the water, Wes bring your kit. I can bring some of my water as well, and post an update on the review.

I didn't know about the refills. That's a huge plus. Are the refills available elsewhere?

I can confirm your experience with the Mag kit. We have 4 tanks at home, all with different types of coral and fish and different care regimens, and when we got the RSCP Mag test kit each tank repeatedly tested at higher than 1600. We went back to using the Elos Mag test instead.

So far my only small gripe is there is no expiration on the bottle. If you don't keep the original box then you
need to write your self a reminder when they expire but how fast I go through test kits it should not matter unless i get an old batch

Wes, I tried out your kit and ended up using 80cc in the syringe, which on the card reads 1600 ppm. Since I've not dosed my new system with Mg since Day One and the tank has turned 5 months old, I don't know what to say. I'll bring your kit to the meeting, and I'll have a water sample with me. Perhaps you can show me different results.

those test kits look similar to the lamotte test kits.
nice plastic case and what not.
Dont forget to post the results after the meeting.
this will be interesting!

i recently got the red sea reef foundation pro kit,

i too am finding the results of the mg test to be a bit off.... to say the least.

I bought one from Pet Blvd and there was a leak in one of the bottles. It got all over everything. Needless to say, they are sending me a replacement.
