Red Sea reef care program questions

I've been researching this and am interested in taking my reef keeping abilities to the next level. This program seems to be well thought out and may be suitable for someone like me who likes to keep it simple. I plan on visiting one of my favorite LFS tomorrow to get the run down. I've already studied and watched each of the videos for the program. Does anyone here have any hands on experience with the program? Anything you would like to share regarding your successes or failures using the RCP?

Thank you for any input you are able to provide.

I have no experience with the colors program, but I use reef energy parts A and B with good success. I turn off the skimmer and return pump and let the MP40 circulate the mixture throughout the DT for around 30 minutes before turning everything back on.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. Also that link was helpful as well. I am going to gather more info before i make my decision. If I choose to start the RCP I'll post a thread with progress pics, etc.

I may have overdosed Reef Energy as I got bad cyano outbreaks. They could have also been coincidence too but it took so long to get rid of that I did not want to try again until I had lots of spare time. Still have about a 1/2 gallon each of Reef Energy A & B as I bought the gallon jugs . . . need to do something about that as they do take up a lot of fridge space [smilie=smile.gif]

I also could not get someone as Red Sea to respond to me despite multiple attempts at contacting them re: the Coral Colors program. One of the supplements is iron and, as I noted in my testing, even NSW using Red Sea Coral Pro tested at 0.00 when you are supposed to get readings of a certain level that I could never obtain. My corals look fine both before and after trying the program so I will probably just use up what I have and sell off the remainder of the Reef Energy.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet but may contact you about the reef energy if I do. The wheels are turning on purchasing a dosing pump and using liquid additives. I'm mainly
Looking for a simple approach to get better color and consistent parameters. I think a doser may be a good hands free way to get it done. I travel a lot so the investment sounds worth it.

You know, I'm open to other suggestions as well. If there is another way I should be going about this then I am all ears. I'm still in the researching stage.

Keep in mind the Reef Energy needs to stay cool so you would probably not want to have dosing containers for it and automated dosing unless that part of the system was refrigerated. You are also supposed to turn off your skimmer while dosing it but you can easily set that up through an Apex or other controller.

Ok so I created my own account and paid for a membership. Yay!

The duke= Bassthumb. Get it?!?

Do you guys think this is a feasible solution?

Dose a two part from BRS
For Ca,Alk, and MAgnesium.

Red Sea colors ABCD. And Red Sea NOPOX

Wouldn't this cover my basic needs including trace elements? The NOPOX for phosphate
Control? I get bad cyano in my tank that I cannot get rid of.

Welcome aboard! A lot of people have good success using 2 part. I use NOPOX ( just like vodka dosing ) and it keeps my nitrates very low. I run GFO for phosphates. Most of your trace elements will be handled by doing frequent water changes with a good quality salt.
