Anyone recently buy an alk refill. Seems like it has changed it use to be blue then turn to red. Now it is blue then yellow like API. Anyone else having the same issue. No new color card was sent just a 1 ml syringe. I am wondering if it was a bad batch and my test kit doesn't expire till next year

I called red sea but they are closed for the day.

I am gonna call them in the morning hopefully it is a bad batch. Color in bottle is red too which is weird

And I get two different results rsp I get 7 (if i go from when it turns from blue to yellow) and API I get 10.

No information here, but this really bothers me. I chose to buy RS test kits believing they were the most accurate (PR?). I knew there were issues with Mg, as I am seeing that myself. But if they did make a change in testing without MONTHS of notice, that is BAD business in my book. If it a case of bad batch, I will certainly be looking for that info as well.

I will post what I find out tomorrow. Dont get me wrong I find rsp pretty accurate compared to their older test kit

No major differences in the refill kits I've bought recently. There are a few minor differences I've seen though: The Ca refill kit seems to give me a lighter color purple when starting the test than in the past, and the large bottles of titrant are a different shape now. I test a couple of tanks weekly, if not more often, so I tend to go through refills pretty quickly.

update

the chemist wants me to send my bad refill in and they are going to send me a replacement alk refill.

Kyle I will text you the number you can call her tomorrow
