Does anyone recognize this pump? Impeller shaft broke and I need a new one, but I can't find any markings on the pump.

Help!

That looks like the skimmer pump for an older style coralife skimmer

Yep. Any idea what I could use to replace it? The skimmer is on one of my zoa tanks. That tank has explosive growth, and I don't want to change anything if I can avoid it. But, now I need a new pump from the looks of things. I wonder if something like a mag 3 or 5 would work?

Impeller shaft can be replaced with fiberglass/carbon fiber rod instead of the ceramic. You can get them in various sizes at RC hobby shops that have RC helicopters and such. Also can find them used on nicer nylon kites. I have a couple sizes of rod I can bring to the frag swap with me and if one matches I can cut you a piece. Just remember to bring the broken rod with you. [smilie=smile.gif]

Thank you!

I will bring it with me for sure :)

Go to a RC hobby shop and buy a carbon fiber rod that is the same thickness I'm going to guess it is 3mm. Cut it to the same length and you are good to go.
That's what I did for my return pump. And it has been working great for 4 months. It's seems it is even more quiet now.
