Reactors--Kalk & Calcium

Lee1 Posted this in another thread, but I thought it was applicable here

I am interested in doing this with my set-up, but I have some hesitations.
1. My Ca reactor is set very slow already and my dKh stays at 8.4 and my calcium stays at 420
2. My pH is 8.45 during the day and 8.35 during the night, so that makes me hesitant to dose high pH solution.

Your dKH is rather on the low end currently. If you were up around 11, I would understand your reticence.

I'm planning on dripping kalk in the future, only to maintain pH higher in my tank and to precipitate PO4 out of the water. I don't need it for alk or calcium, and it will not be for top off - top off will continue to be RO/DI water.
