re-activating Live rock and sand

Well we have landed in Burnsville Minnesota and we are now in the process of setting the 55 back up. Since we moved everything dry I assume we are going to have some trouble getting it back to a nice healthy tank.

So The current plan is to fill it back up with water rock scape and leave the fish out while feeding the tank for a while. Is there anything else I should do?

Anyone interested in shipping me a cup of their sand? I would be glad to pay overnight shipping and handling feess.

Also if I were you I would buy live rock, at least 20% or so of your total rock . You need the sponges and stuff you just won't get from the sand. IF need be just leave some of the dry rock out and replace with live.

This along with the seed sand should get you to a nice start.

I wouldn't feed the tank much, that is for sure.

I think there is one that does Salt water stuff local. I will certainly look around to see what is available before paying the shipping.

Turns out Salt water isn't all that popular up here considering the heating costs I am not all that suprised.

There isn't much LR around that I have been able to find. Do you think a box ordered to be shipped to the local airport before it gets cold would do to get the sponges and other organizims?

have you checked reef central in the reef club forum to see if there is a local club around? said:
There is a great idea. I went out and looked and there is nothing in MSP but there is one in W. Wisconsin. I will contact those guys too for some sand or rick if I cannot find anyone locally.
