Ranco Dual controller

I need help setting up my Ranco dual. One will be heater and the other is chiller. Ideal temperature I want is 78 degrees +/- 2.

What temperature setting do i need to set the heater control to?
What temp setting do i need to set the chiller to?

I don't have a Ranco, but just recently setup an AquaController 3 and I think the heater/chiller setup is similar. I also only have heaters, but hopefully this will help some.

If your ideal temp is 78, set the Ranco to that, then set your heater to just above that, say 79 or so. I would assume you'd do the opposite for the chiller, i.e., set it to just below the Ranco.
 
I dont quite understand. Ive set the heater side to 78 so whenver the temperature drops below 78 then it will turn the heater on until it heats it to 78.

But the chiller..I dont understand how that is going to work. For example, I would think to set it at 80 so whenever the temperature is above 80 the chiller will turn on, but then when does it know when to stop running. Ive tried that but it doesnt even turn on so i dont think it operates that way.
