Rainbow Temp Monitor - Junk?

Does anyone else use this temp monitor from Rainbow?

This thing has always been off on the temp and I was wondering if it was just mine or do they have a history of being off? I used 2 glass aquarium thermometers and they both read 79 degrees, but my digital reads 84.1 degrees. :roll:
 
hey just to let you know, I used one of those and it was confusing, if I remeber right, the "inside" temp was the room temp, and the "outside" temp was the tank, but other than it being mixed up in my opinion, it worked nicely for me.
 
I have two of them, one for 3 years the other on a new tank just set-up, and they work just fine without any problems.
 
I've got two of 'em, one probe in the set of refuguims fed from my main tank and one probe in the set of refuguims fed by my sump...
 
I've had one for about a year. I keep the in-tank temp sensor in the back corner of my display. I have no complaints with it.
 
Hmm... My probe is in the corner of the display about 2 to 3 inches below the top of the water line.

Would the temp be a 4 degree difference at the top compared to the sump?
 
Try putting the temp probe where your other thermometer is and see what they do? I thought mine might be off since there's usually a several degree difference between the two of 'em, so I put 'em in the same refuguim and they were within .1 degrees of each other...
