Quick question about powerheads

First of all I have a 215 mixed reef that is driving me crazy. Everything in the tank is perfect except the flow. I have tried using anywhere from 4 to 8 maxi 1200's in every different configuration you can possibly imagine. During these countless hours of adjusting, moving, watching, praying, something goes wrong, corals are blown away, flesh is blown off, sand turns brown, sand blows away, sps doesn't get enough, corals won't open, etc, etc, etc.. Now I (actually my wife and son too, who can't bare to watch me climb up and down a ladder for hours each night cussing over and over) have come to the conclusion that I must invest in some better technology. Honestly my powerheads are the only thing I skimped on in the whole setup everything else is the best money can buy, I could never justify spending $800 on water movement, now I am paying dearly. I'm now turning to my dfwmas peers for advice. I have two Tunze 6100's in my marine depot shopping cart ready to purchase but want some input.

1. Would you chose Tunze 6100s or Vortech?
2. Do you think this would be enough flow for my tank (in addition to my current four locline returns on a little giant TE-5.5-MDQ-SC 2150 gph)?
3. Do you place these closer to the top of the tank or in the middle on each side?
4. Do i need the magnets if I go tunzes?
5. Will the tunzes or vortechs upset my lps and softies?
6. Any other suggestions?

many thanks
Nick

before you go vortech or tunze checkout the koralia thread alot cheaper only thing is that you will not have the controller feature.

Have you considered adding a closed loop system. I second the Koralia recommendation. I've read/heard a lot of great stuff about them and they're much cheaper than tunze or vortech. Have you considered a wavebox? Tunze and vortech's, however, are great and I really don't think you could go wrong with those. It's worth checking into opinions on Koralias just because they're so much cheaper. There are even mods you could do to your existing MJ 1200s to virtually turn them into Tunzes, Koralias etc. Marc just replied to a post about powerheads in this forum I believe and he give a good comparison of the advantages of the vortec over tunzes.
