No, and mine has never jumped. Spike likes it in the water more than out in the air. Maybe Tucker told him what it was like for him once, when he jumped out. (Fortunately, Tucker recovered and is much more inclined to hang out lower in the tank.)
I had two six line wrasses go sunbathing (Couldn't get to the carpet, but they jumped up onto the center brace) and turned into fish jerky...
I'd definitely recommend a cover of some sort for these fish... Both fish had been in the tank for a few months before they went exploring too, so it wasn't an initial acclimation reaction in my case...
I suppose it depends on the fish, because my Egypt hasn't tried to jump - she is too busy hunting in the rocks to think of going anywhere else. I got her when she was small from a meeting raffle - that may make a difference, too.
I also had a sunbathing victim. He was there for no more than 2 hours on the center brace and he might as well of jumped into a food dehydrator. Loved the sixline though, darn shame.
I had mine for about 6 months as well. Unfortunately I upgraded my tank and all stock was in tubs in the hallway overnight. The next morning we found him on the floor.
My first six line jumped into my sump (behind the tank) and decided to check out the nice PVC cave which leads to the return pump. His sacrifice became a nice chum meal for the tank. Had him for all of 3 days.
My current six line managed to jump for the sump but landed in the refugium so he is still around.
My tank is not covered to this day..hopefully the little booger doesn't try it again.
