Pygmy Angel

I wanted to get info from people that own a Pygmy Angel. I was wondering if anyone had one in a reef tank and if the fish left all the corals along. Also wondering on the temperment of this fish from someone that has had one.

My experience its hit or miss with any dwarf angel. The only way to tell is to have one that was previously owned and was known not to nip. I had a lemonpeel angel that was lovely, never nipped, never bothered anybody. Until a rock anemone ate it. My Gold Rim Tang would nip only on one specific colony of mean green zoas but not voraciously..

At any rate, be sure to QT since angels get ich pretty easily.

I have a flame angel, and a coral beauty doing great in my reef tank.

DO NOT get an eibli angel. I had one of these, killed 2 of my huge brains, and some blastos. 2 weeks and a homemade fish trap later, he went back to the LFS.

From what I have heard, even the pygmy angels are hit and miss, most will be ok, but you might get one that decides it likes a certain coral.

I have a coral beauty in my reef and has never touched a polyp or coral, eats algea and brine and mysis. Very colorful, eats off the clip with the tangs, overall a great addition to the tank.
