Push Button Water Change

ok i am working on a push button water change system for my reef tank. it seem to be pretty straight forward in my head, but often get ahead of myself. the system involves two pumps, two momentary switches, 1/4" water line, and two electric Polypropylene Solenoid Valves.

one switch will be yellow and one will be red, red being the waste water and yellow being new SW. when red button is depressed the valve will open allowing pump one to drain sump into plumbing under house. then depressnig the yellow would open valve#2 allowing the SW storage tank to fill the sump with new SW.

I am still waiting on all pieces to arrive , so the build hasnt been completed as of yet. This is mainly to toss this idea around to see if i am missing anything. If you see room for improvment or an error in my thinking, please let me know. Thanks in advance. Bryan

2 X ATO units should be all you need.

Hook up 1st ATO unit to pump (in tank, waste water) and trashcan (sensor in trashcan).
2nd one is a little harder. I use a JBJ ATO (mode b) for the 2nd unit. I put sensor 2 where the sensor from the first ATO. Once sensor 2 is activated it will activate the pump.

I looked into using the ATO method but really didnt feel comfortable relying on the float switches. I have had 2 jbj models and they both crapped out in a short period of time. by using the push button method, I determine how much water is discharged and replaced not a sensor. then later on if i feel like going with a fully automated setup, i just have to plug it into a controller and program the as needed.

How much money have you got invested in this so far? Champion Lighting sells a gizmo for this exact process for $300.

I realize this is the DIY forum, and I'm following along. :)

I believe this is the one. I thought it looked different, but the price is close and what it does is right. 2 to 30gpd with this dual pump:
