Problems with a magnum hot250 - Microbubbles in exhaust

[We're just setting our 55G Non-RR reef tank and we're temporarily using a Magnum 250 HOT filter. The problem we're having is that it's blowing all sorts of Microbubbles all over the tank and I can't find a way to stop them. Any ideas would be appreciated.]

[wait a week or two for it develop a nice little slime coat and the micro bubbles should go away....this also happens with brand new plumbing.]

[Are any connections not sealed above the water line? It could be sucking air in. Or is the air coming from the canister itself perhaps?]

[I've resealed the inlet and outlet with teflon tape to fill gaps, and reseated the cover but we're still getting lots of microbubbles. Could it be the air injector tube inside the filter ? I'll be picking brains at the meeting tonight.]

[Is the large O-ring in place when the lid is reattached the the canister?]

[Finally determined the Cause.... Small pieces of sand were in the impeller assy and on the main O-ring seal. a complete cleaning of the system corrected the microbubble problem.
Thanks to everyone who responded]
