Correct me if I am wrong but the digestive track of a shrimp runs from its head where the stomach and stuff is, to near the end of its tail right before the "swimmer" but it is on its dorsal side. so this ventral mass could not be "poop" right?
Now my cleaners are at it as well, different color of "eggs" these look light green.
How often does this happen, is this common? I have had shrimps for a while but never witnessed this now all of the sudden first my peppermints then my cleaners.
catch them and make sure they are in the refugium. After the hatch or separate from the mother, put the mother back in the main tank and slow down the flow in the fuge to just a trickle...
The cleaner shrimp's eggs will turn white just before they're ready to go for their first swim. I haven't had any luck raising them so I just let them feed the tank now. The young go through several larval stages needing different foods. I think they molt like 2-3 times within their first few hours. My understanding is peppermint shrimp young don't go through as many larval stages as cleaner shrimp do and are easier to raise.
I saw what i think it was a massive hatching tonight about 1 hour after the lights went off.
My first thought was what's all the micro bubbles, then where all these pods came from. After looking closer I saw that the "white bely" on my cleaner shrimp was gone.
