Having something bleep to let you know your tank is in dormant mode might be a valuable tool for many in our club. I'm thinking about getting one myself.
However, since I have UPS in a couple of rooms in my house, if the power goes out, they all start bleeping. Still, none are connected to the very circuits going to my tank, so I might still pick one up.
Or finally get whatever x-10 gizmo is on the market to flash a light bulb and make some noise so the Aqua Controller II can notify me when something is amiss.
